Teen life is tough these days! You know it. You feel it. You live it. You see the pain all around you. But you are not alone! And you can do something to make a big difference!

TO SAVE A LIFE offers real hope for real life. It's the movie that has literally saved lives and inspired millions! Don't just take our word for it — Read more than 3,000 real stories here! And see why more than 390,000 people like it on Facebook.

YOU can join the movement and bring hope to hurting people around you. And it's even easier during NATIONAL TO SAVE A LIFE WEEK. In conjunction with National Suicide Prevention Week, join thousands of teens, schools, youth groups, clubs, churches and leaders across the country September 4-11 to reach out with TO SAVE A LIFE. It's the perfect way to launch the new school year. And the difference you make can save a life!

IT'S EASY
TO SAVE A LIFE WEEK is about watching the movie and putting its principles into action. Get started with the basics here.

  1. Get the DVD.

    You can buy it here.

  2. Host a home viewing party.

Invite some old friends over and reach out to some new friends. Watch TO SAVE A LIFE.

  3. Go Deeper.

Talk about the movie and what really matters in life. Use these conversation cards to get started.

  4. Live it out.

Keep reaching out to hurting people around you. Brainstorm with your friends to start a lunch club, a friend-making challenge, a text-a-thon. Or just start by saying hi to a new person every day. The options are unlimited. And check out these guides to start your own follow-up study with friends or with your youth leaders help.

GO EVEN BIGGER!
Here's how to take TO SAVE A LIFE WEEK to the next level. Take the first step, and get going toward changing your entire school, town, state or world!

  1. Talk to your youth leaders about throwing a mega TO SAVE A LIFE MOVIE EVENT.

Invite your whole school, community or city!

Or if you are a youth leader at a church, ministry or school, get all the info here about getting a Movie Event License to host a public showing.

If you're a retailer, promote TO SAVE A LIFE WEEK in your store and encourage your customers to purchase the DVD and show it to teens and parents in their lives.

  2. Get on the map.

Put your group on the map so people in your area can join you!

Be one of the first to sign your group up for TO SAVE A LIFE Week and we'll send you a free TO SAVE A LIFE T-shirt (while supplies last). Sign up today!

  3. Spread the word.

Give invitation tickets to your friends and put up posters (with administrators' permission, of course). T-shirts are great conversation starters, and the Slap Bracelets are a cheap, fun way to get attention.

  4. Start a "To Save A Life" or "Life Savers" Club at your school.

It could be just like in the movie: eating lunch together and purposefully including people who seem hurt, lonely or hopeless. Or your club could focus on improving campus life by preventing self-injury, stopping bullying and helping other people treat each other better. Learn more about how to start a club at wikihow.com or gocampus.org.

  5. Use your social media skills.

Set up a Facebook event page, send invites, like it, link it, and encourage all your online friends to do the same. Hold a text-a-thon to pass the word phone by phone. Tweet if you're on Twitter too.

  6. Get some press.

Publicize your event to the local media and city government. Hosting a movie event to help improve teen lives and reduce bullying, cutting and teen suicide is news! So share your event information with the local newspaper and TV stations. Invite them to come to the event. Download this free Press Release to send out.

  7. Invite the public.

Put up posters at local businesses to promote your event. Ask business owners for permission at popular hangout spots and local coffeehouses, convenient stores, groceries, dry cleaner and pet stores.

  8. Host an After Movie Discussion Group.

To Save A Life is full of important topics and a great opener to discuss tough issues faced in schools every day. Have a youth leader help get the dialogue going once the credits roll.

  9. Have a party!

Make TO SAVE A LIFE WEEK fun! Plan your event with a theme — both at your home viewing party and your public Movie Event. Have food and games. Got friends from different schools? Make it a competition to see which school can bring the most people — be sure to give them a prize.

Need some theme ideas? Start here:
+ Hollywood premiere: Roll out a red carpet; wear thrift store formal wear.
+ Beach party: Eat Life Savers; dress like lifeguards.
+ Movie theater: Pop popcorn. Serve candy. Show a double feature.
+ Drive-in theater: Take a big screen outside.
+ Concert combo: Invite a local garage or youth group band to play.
